On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, the newly elected Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), Viktor Pavlushchyk, held his first meeting with the ambassadors of the G7 countries accredited in Ukraine and Head of the EU Delegation.
The foreign diplomats congratulated the NACP head on winning the competition and noted the openness and transparency of the competition commission. In addition, the parties assured of the NACP's continued support.
Viktor Pavlushchyk presented his vision of the NACP's further development. According to him, the main priorities in the activity are team cohesion for sustainable effective work, improvement of the declaration process and its further automation, optimization and simplification of explanations for public officials. He also emphasized the importance of coordinating the implementation of the State Anti-Corruption Program ("SACP") and preventing corruption risks in the most corruption-prone areas.
The G7 Ambassadors and Head of the EU Delegation also assured that they rely on the National Agency to formulate anti-corruption policy, introduce the Unified Register of Lobbyists of Ukraine, and take all measures to create zero tolerance to corruption in society.
"Ukraine and Ukrainians have made their choice - this is the path to the EU and European institutions. We have no other choice but to win on the battlefield and overcome corruption in the country. The NACP will exercise all its legally established powers and is ready for new challenges," said the NACP Head.
The meeting was attended by ambassadors of the Group of Seven countries accredited to Ukraine, including: Pier Francesco Zazzo (Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine), Gael Weissier (Ambassador of France to Ukraine), Matsuda Kuninori (Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine), Katarina Mathernova (EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Head of the EU Delegation), Robert Needham (Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Ukraine), Tim Pranghe (Chargé d'Affaires of the German Embassy in Ukraine), Sheriff Nagy (Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine).
