Based on the materials of the lifestyle monitoring conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), as well as based on independently collected evidence, a prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) to recognize as unsubstantiated the assets used by the former head of the detective unit of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine (ESBU) and his wife.
These are "TOYOTA CAMRY" (2023) and "BMW X3" (2022) cars, which the couple used in 2023-2024. The vehicles were registered to a relative and a close friend of the ESBU official, but were actually used and disposed of by him.
The total value of the cars is almost UAH 4 million.
Based on the results of the analysis of the assets of the declarant, his family members, relatives, and related persons, the impossibility of acquiring this property at the expense of legal income was established.
In view of the above, the SAPO prosecutor filed a lawsuit with the HACC to recognize the assets as unsubstantiated and to recover them for the state budget through civil forfeiture.
As a reminder, on February 13, the HACC Appeals Chamber upheld the decision of the court of first instance regarding the recovery of the unsubstantiated asset of the head of the department of the Drug Crime Department of the National Police of Ukraine for the state budget.
