The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court upheld the decision of the court of first instance, which recognised as unjustified assets worth over UAH 5 million used by the head of one of the departments of the Central Interregional Administration of the State Migration Service in Kyiv and Kyiv Region.
The decision was based on materials from monitoring the official's lifestyle conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) and materials obtained independently by prosecutors from the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO).
NACP established that during 2022-2023, family members and relatives of the official became the formal owners of an apartment in Kyiv and two cars, purchasing the assets on his behalf. After the purchase, the property was used by the official and his wife.
An analysis of the income and expenses of the official's close associates showed that they were unable to purchase this movable and immovable property with funds obtained from legal sources.
In addition, funds in the amount of UAH 1.39 million, the cost of the third car, will be seized to the state budget.
The decision of the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court shall enter into force upon its announcement.
