Artem Sytnyk is appointed Deputy Head of the NACP
On May 12, Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) Oleksandr Novikov, appointed Artem Sytnyk as his Deputy. Artem Sytnyk will be responsible for the following areas of NACP’s activities:
  • NACP’s coordination with law enforcement agencies and prosecutors, including issues related to consideration of  e-declarations verifications results and identification of assets of those involved in Russian aggression against Ukraine;
  • prevention and settlement of conflicts of interest;
  • monitoring and control over the implementation of legislation on the ethical conduct of public officials, prevention, and settlement of conflicts of interest.
Artem Sytnyk will also act as the Head of the NACP during the absence of Oleksandr Novikov. In 2015, Artem Sytnyk was appointed Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) as a result of the first independent competition in Ukraine for the position of the Head of NABU. He held this position until 2022, ensuring the establishment and development of the law enforcement body. During his tenure, the NABU has become a standard of integrity in Ukraine’s governmental system and a threat to every corrupt individual. The NABU prosecuted more than 1,000 corrupt officials.  Among them are six ministers and their deputies, 13 heads of central executive bodies, 22 members of Parliament, 70 judges, and 94 executives of state enterprises. "Artem Sytnyk is a professional with unique experience. His return to the anti-corruption front of Ukraine is important for the complete overcoming of corruption risks during the war and post-war period together with the teams of the President, Government, and the Parliament '', said the Head of the NACP Oleksandr Novikov. Oleksandr Starodubtsev, who previously held a position of NACP’s Deputy Head, will continue to be a part of the NACP team, holding a position of Deputy Chief of Staff. His responsibilities will consist of coordination of the HR activities, IT, and integrity education. Therefore, he will continue to coordinate the implementation of the UkraineNOW.Vsion of the Future  project, supported by the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative , the DataMining Artificial Intelligence Project, the OKR (objectives and key results) system and the Five Disciplines methodology, and the ERP case management system,. In 2021, the NACP became the first authority in Ukraine implementing such system.
