National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) and the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) have served a notice of suspicion to a former deputy head of a department of the State Tax Service in the Volyn region. She intentionally entered false information in her annual declaration for 2022.
In particular, her declaration did not include information about the real estate used by her and her family. A 5-room apartment and a garage in the suburbs of Lutsk were registered to her husband's brother, but in fact she and her family live in the apartment.
After NACP discovered these discrepancies, she eventually re-registered the property to herself.
The former public servant, who is currently practicing law, also failed to disclose the value of three of her cars in her declaration.
In total, she tried to conceal property worth UAH 3 million. She was served a notice of suspicion of intentionally entering false information in the declaration (Part 1 of Art. 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of restraint of liberty for up to two years, with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
Procedural supervision is carried out by the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office.
Warning. In accordance with part one of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
