Prosecutors of the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO), based on the lifestyle monitoring materials of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) and evidence obtained independently, filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) to declare the asset of a member of the Chernihiv Regional Council unjustified and to recover it for the state (civil forfeiture).
The asset in question is a 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser 200 worth UAH 2 million.
NACP found that the car was purchased in 2023 by an acquaintance of the official, but it was used exclusively by the MP.
In addition, on the day of purchase, the official was appointed the proper user of the vehicle, meaning she could dispose of the property.
The NACP's authorised persons found that neither the family of the regional council deputy nor her entourage was able to purchase the above movable property at the expense of legitimate income.
The assets may be recovered in favour of the state by a decision of the HACC in accordance with Article 290 of the Civil Code of Ukraine.
