The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has upheld a claim filed by a prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) to declare UAH 5 million worth of assets of the head of one of the departments of the Central Interregional Department of the State Migration Service in Kyiv and Kyiv region as unjustified based on materials of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP). The assets were recovered in favor of the state in accordance with Art. 290 of the Civil Code of Ukraine.
NACP found that the official's family members and relatives became formal owners of two apartments (in Kyiv and Kharkiv) and three cars in 2019-2023. The materials collected during the monitoring of the official's lifestyle indicate that the property was purchased on behalf of the migration service official. The analysis of income and expenses of the official's close relatives indicates their inability to buy the said movable and immovable property with funds obtained from legal sources.
According to the court decision, an apartment and two cars, as well as UAH 1.38 million in cash as the cost of the third car, were confiscated to the state.
The court decision may be appealed within 30 days from the date of its full text.
