Civil forfeiture: UAH 2.2 million of Dnipro city council deputy forfeited to the state based on NACP materials

31.10.2024

On October 31, 2024, the Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) upheld the position of the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and upheld the decision of the first instance court of January 19, 2024, which declared the residential house and land plot in Dnipro city of a deputy of one of the local councils of Dnipropetrovs'k region, who is also the secretary of the city council, to be unjustified assets. More than UAH 2.25 million was recovered as state revenue.

The decision of the HACC Appeals Chamber comes into force upon its announcement.

As a reminder, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), as part of its lifestyle monitoring, found that the city council deputy had acquired unjustified assets - a residential building and a land plot under it located in Dnipro city with a total value of UAH 2.9 million. The analysis of property status and income revealed that part of the funds required for the acquisition of these assets in the amount of UAH 2.258 million could not have been acquired through legitimate income.
