The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) is enhancing collaboration with the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Lithuania in the areas of corruption prevention, information exchange, and public awareness. The Head of NACP, Oleksandr Novikov, along with the Director of the Special Investigation Service, Linas Pernavas, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the offices.
The Republic of Lithuania has extensive experience in combating corruption and shaping a policy of integrity at all levels of the state. We are ready to adopt this experience and, most importantly, share our expertise in creating a unique digital infrastructure for the development of integrity," said the Head of the NACP.
The representatives of the Service shared the history of the organization's development and accumulated experience. In particular, Linas Pernavas mentioned the key role of effective management models and anti-corruption education in building a policy of integrity, as exampled by Lithuania.
"We cannot change people's mentality in one day; that is why we are working with managers in business and the public sector, as well as with heads in educational institutions and teachers who can influence the formation of virtuous behavior in society," noted Linas Pernavas, the director of the Special Investigation Service.
Oleksandr Novikov shared with his Lithuanian colleague the Ukrainian experience in implementing integrity education and discussed the Leadership Guide developed by the NACP for leaders on building an ethical organization.
We shall recall that the Leadership Guide is a comprehensive practical document for the systematic development of ethical and effective organizations in the public and private sectors. An effective and transparent management system is able to eliminate corrupt practices at all levels of organizations, as demonstrated by the experience of many countries worldwide.
