Integrity tools can build effective management systems for organizations, Mr. Novikov said during working trip to Chernivtsi
Corruption is a systemic management problem. The introduction of effective anti-corruption tools allows for eliminating the causes of corruption rather than the consequences. As a result, it increases the efficiency of organizations in general and ensures the formation of a system of integrity, trust in the authorities, and support from international partners. This was stated by Oleksandr Novikov, Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), during a meeting of members of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine on November 14 in Chernivtsi.    "The NACP is a reliable partner for communities that are ready to be honest and implement new anti-corruption practices. The National Agency has developed a number of tools for building integrity at the local level. Communities that are ready to implement them and share these principles can join the signing of the Declaration on Building Integrity in Local Governments. More than 20 local governments from different parts of Ukraine and two associations have already done so," said Novikov. He called on the communities of the Chernivtsi region to join and implement new anti-corruption tools developed by the National Agency. In particular, they are outlined in the Leadership Guide "Building an Integrity and Effective Organization", which takes into account the OECD recommendations on public integrity. "Integrity is synonymous with effectiveness, a sign of maturity, and a well-functioning governance system and organization structure. If the management system is mature enough to achieve the organization's goals, it eliminates the causes of corruption," said the NACP Head. He noted that those authorities that implement effective anti-corruption safeguards will be able to receive more support from international partners and attract investment. After all, transparent and effective institutions inspire more trust. According to a recent sociological survey, in western Ukraine, 65% of citizens believe that there are indeed positive developments in Ukraine in the fight against corruption. Therefore, according to the Head of the NACP, it is important to maintain public trust, create zero tolerance for corruption in society, and ensure transparency in public policy.
