The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) and the European Union Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI) plan to expand their cooperation. This was agreed upon by the new Head of the NACP, Viktor Pavlushchyk, and the Head of EUACI, Allan Pagh Kristensen, during their first working meeting.
The Head of the NACP expressed his vision of the main directions of the Agency's future development and thanked the EUACI team for their continued support. Among these priorities are optimization of e-declaration processes, implementation of the State Anti-Corruption Program (SACP) and the Anti-Corruption Strategy, and preservation and strengthening of the NACP team. It is the timely implementation of the SACP that is specified in the European Commission's recommendations to Ukraine as part of the EU Enlargement Package to ensure Ukraine's progress towards EU membership.
"Over the years, the EUACI project has proven to be an indispensable pillar of support for the NACP. I am convinced of the need to expand and deepen cooperation, to focus on facilitating the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Strategy and the Anti-Corruption Action Plan. It is also very important to introduce educational materials, courses, and recommendations into the educational process of schools and universities to build the integrity of young people and increase transparency in the activities of educational institutions in general," said Mr. Pavlushchyk.
Allan Pagh Kristensen congratulated the newly appointed Head, expressed EUACI readiness to support the work of the NACP and emphasized the crucial importance of preventive measures to reduce corruption in Ukraine.
"The NACP is our reliable partner in preventing and combating corruption. We are pleased to see that the NACP priorities are closely aligned with those of our program. We look forward to expanding our cooperation under Mr. Pavlushchyk's leadership, particularly in the areas of education, ethics and public awareness, to shape a new generation of Ukrainians through the values of integrity," said EUACI Head of Mission Allan Pagh Kristensen.
