The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine issued a resolution ‘On extending the term of implementation of the State Anti-Corruption Program for 2023-2025’ and published it on the Government Portal website.
The resolution was adopted with the aim of ensuring the continuous implementation of measures defined by the Anti-Corruption Strategy for 2021-2025 by extending the term of the State Anti-Corruption Program for 2023-2025 until the date of entry into force of the State Anti-Corruption Program for the next period.
The need to extend the deadline is due in particular to:
- the preparation of a new Anti-Corruption Strategy for 2026-2030. The Anti-Corruption Strategy is implemented through the implementation of the State Anti-Corruption Programme, which is developed by the NACP taking into account the specific features established by the relevant strategy and approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine within six months from the date of entry into force of the law approving the Anti-Corruption Strategy;
- the introduction and continuation of martial law: due to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, some planned measures were not fully implemented for objective reasons.
In addition, a significant number of points in the current State Anti-Corruption Program remain relevant and continue to meet the needs of anti-corruption policy implementation.
The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) will continue to coordinate the implementation of the current the State Anti-Corruption Program and assess its effectiveness. The adoption of the Resolution makes it possible to implement a gradual and continuous transition from the implementation of the current State Anti-Corruption Program to the implementation of the State Anti-Corruption Program for the next period.
