The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), while conducting lifestyle monitoring, found signs of illicit enrichment in the head of the Main Department of Capital Investments of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine In cooperation with the State Bureau of Investigation, the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) and the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv, the NACP found signs of a corruption criminal offense, indicating his illicit enrichment of almost UAH 14 million. On February 23, 2024, the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv served the official a notice of suspicion.
The assets in question are as follows:
-two apartments in Kyiv;
-three cars (NISSAN ROGUE; BMW 428I; LEXUS LX 570);
-non-residential premises, a garage box and a parking space;
-over UAH 3.5 million in cash.
During 2022-2023, all of the above property was registered in the names of the official's relatives, who did not have the necessary funds obtained through legal means.
In particular, a close person issued a power of attorney to represent the declarant in the name of the subject of the declaration to purchase any real estate.
Based on the totality of the facts, the actions of the Head of the Main Department of Capital Investments of the Ministry of Defense were qualified under Art. 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. After the case is sent to court and if found guilty, the official faces imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with disqualification to hold certain positions for up to three years and confiscation of property.
