The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), together with representatives of public authorities and organizations implementing the State Anti-Corruption Program for 2023-2025 (SACP), summarized anti-corruption communications for the first quarter of 2024.

As part of the implementation of the SACP and the Communication Strategy for Preventing and Combating Corruption until 2025 (Communication Strategy), the participants presented the best communication practices of the authorities, discussed plans and objectives for the next quarter of 2024.

In particular, representatives of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine, and the National Health Service of Ukraine shared their experience in communicating anti-corruption topics.

“An important task for the country's communication community is to change the trend of perception of the country as totally corrupt. Together, we must show the real efforts of the state to prevent corruption, demonstrate success in creating more effective rules of the game for the authorities and citizens, where there is no room for corruption. We need to work together to restore trust in government agencies, to restore the motivation to unite, as it was at the beginning of the full-scale war. To do this, we must unite ourselves, consolidate both anti-corruption efforts and communication practices. The NACP has an important role to play as a coordinator, including communication of the state's anti-corruption efforts,” said NACP Head Viktor Pavlushchyk.

In addition, the experts presented the results of the annual study on media coverage of corruption by the Center for Content Analysis, the National Agency  sociological study “Corruption in Ukraine 2023: Understanding, Perception, Prevalence”, as well as the study “Identification and Analysis of Russian Information Threats on Corruption in the Ukrainian Media Space” by the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security under the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

As a reminder, on December 22, 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted Resolution No. 1203 “On Approval of the Communication Strategy in the Field of Preventing and Combating Corruption for the Period up to 2025 and Approval of the Operational Plan of Measures for its Implementation”.

The Communication Strategy and the Operational Plan are available here.
