Based on the results of lifestyle monitoring conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), employees of the Brovary District Prosecutor's Office and the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv Region reported their suspicions to a deputy of the Zazymska Village Council of Brovary District, Kyiv Region, who holds the position of land surveyor in the same district.
The NACP established that the deputy, his wife and son acquired ownership of 63 land plots with an area of almost 62 hectares in the Brovarsky district. The deputy's family purchased this land at an undervalued price of UAH 182 per 100 square metres, i.e. they paid about UAH 1.13 million. However, according to the results of the assessment, the minimum market value of the assets is about 37.8 million hryvnias.
For example, a year ago, the official's wife purchased a land plot with an area of almost 1.3 hectares in the Brovary district for 9,000 hryvnias. However, the minimum market value on the date of purchase was almost 1 million hryvnias.
The National Agency analysed the income and expenses of the official's family and concluded that neither the suspect nor his relatives could have acquired the specified real estate objects from legal income.
The deputy of the Zazymska Village Council of the Brovarsky District is charged with committing a criminal offence under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, ‘Illegal enrichment.’ Currently, the prosecutor's office suspects the official of acquiring unjustified assets worth 14 million hryvnias. The investigation into the remaining assets is still ongoing.
