Lifestyle Monitoring: Over UAH 2.7 Million may be recovered from National Police Official

04.03.2026

Based on materials from the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) and taking into account independently collected evidence, the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) appealed to the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) with a claim to recognise as unjustified assets worth over UAH 2.7 million acquired by an employee of the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police of Ukraine and to recover them as state revenue (civil forfeiture).

As a result of lifestyle monitoring, the NACP established that in 2023, while serving as the Head of the Strategic Investigations Directorate in the Ternopil region, the official purchased a MERCEDES-BENZ G 55 AMG. The purchase price exceeded UAH 1.5 million.

Furthermore, between 2020 and 2024, while holding various positions within the Strategic Investigations Department, the declarant accumulated over UAH 1.1 million held in bank accounts.

The NACP analyzed the official's income and expenditures and concluded that it was impossible to acquire these assets through legal income.

Under Article 290 of the Civil Procedure Code of Ukraine, these assets may be recovered by the state following a HACC court ruling.

Important! According to the Law of Ukraine “On Prevention of Corruption,” any person authorized to perform state or local government functions, against whom a court decision on the recognition of assets as unsubstantiated and their recovery by the state has entered into legal force, is subject to dismissal from office in accordance with the procedure established by law.

As a reminder, based on NACP materials, SAPO previously filed a civil forfeiture lawsuit regarding the assets of a former official of the Economic Security Bureau (ESB).
