The Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), Viktor Pavlushchyk, met with representatives of the Ukrainian team of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). During the meeting, the parties discussed the results of cooperation and shared their vision of further plans.
Mr. Pavlushchyk emphasized the results of the National Agency's work achieved in cooperation with IFES in Ukraine within the framework of international technical assistance projects, which contributed to strengthening the NACP's capacity, independence and effectiveness in combating political corruption.
"The NACP team is grateful to IFES for its continued support and unwavering commitment to our common cause. It was in close cooperation that we managed to launch the POLITDATA portal, a political party reporting registry, create software products for Jira, update the Study.NAZK educational platform, and start working on the modernization of the POLITDATA 2.0 political party reporting registry," said the NACP Head.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of deepening further cooperation in building integrity in the field of political finance. First of all, it is about implementing ambitious projects to avoid corrupt practices in the field of political party reporting, in particular, modernizing the POLITDATA political party reporting register, conducting training for representatives of political parties on reporting, and improving the skills of NACP employees.
"Preventing corruption in the financing of political parties is a complex issue, but it is important for the further development of the state. we need to do high-quality and long-term work to prevent such phenomena as hidden funds, fake donors, paid online campaigns. The NACP has a strong political corruption prevention team, so I am confident that with the support of IFES and civil society, the Agency will succeed in combating corrupt practices and modernizing the existing register for political party reporting," said IFES Senior Director Peter Erben.
