In February 2024, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) started 86 full audits of declarations selected under the new risk-based approach.
The declarations for the 2021 and 2022 reporting periods selected for full verification passed the logical and arithmetic control and received the highest risk rating as of the date of their selection. In addition, full audits have been launched based on reports of possible false asset declarations.
In particular, in February, NACP started checking the declarations of
- MPs (two declarations);
- Civil servants of categories A or B (35 declarations);
- Heads of regional councils and district state administrations (three declarations);
- Judges (11 declarations);
- Prosecutors (three declarations);
- Investigators, detectives, police officers (six declarations);
- Directors of state and municipal enterprises, their deputies (seven declarations);
- Deputies of local councils - 13 declarations, including two declarations of regional councils;
- Diplomatic officials (two declarations).
The declarants received notifications of the start of the verification in their personal accounts in the Register of Declarations.
As of the end of February, the NACP has 206 full verifications of declarations in progress.
We emphasize that the start of a full verification does not indicate that the declarant has committed a corruption or corruption-related crime. The results of the verification will be known within two to three months.
In case of violations identified during the verification, the NACP will take measures to bring the person to statutory liability, and if there are grounds, will send materials to the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office to decide on the confiscation of unjustified assets.
