The Civil Cassation Court within the Supreme Court confirmed the legality of the decisions of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) regarding the recognition of an asset belonging to the head of a department of the Department of Fighting Against Drug Crime of the National Police of Ukraine as unjustified, and the recovery of its value into the state revenue.
This concerns half of an apartment in Kyiv, which the official, along with his wife, acquired ownership of in 2021. The value of this asset is over 1.8 million UAH. During the lifestyle monitoring, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) established that the spouses did not have sufficient legal income to purchase this property.
Based on the materials of the NACP and evidence independently collected by a prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, a lawsuit was filed with the High Anti-Corruption Court. On March 6, 2025, the HACC partially satisfied this lawsuit, recognised the asset as unjustified, and decided to recover its value into the state revenue. On February 13, 2026, the Appeals Chamber of the HACC left this decision unchanged.
The decision of the Supreme Court is final and not subject to appeal.
As a reminder, previously, the Supreme Court confirmed the legality of the confiscation of the property of the head of an interregional administration of the Ministry of Justice.
