The new anti-corruption strategy for Ukraine for 2026-2030 and anti-corruption mainstreaming in negotiations with the European Union are the priorities of cooperation between the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) and the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI). These and other topics were discussed during a meeting of the EUACI Steering Committee by representatives of the Ukrainian parliament, government, anti-corruption agencies, civil society, media, international partners and local governments.
NAPC Head Viktor Pavlushchyk presented the main indicators of the implementation of the State Anti-Corruption Program. In the fourth quarter of 2024, government agencies completed 419 out of 1146 measures, which is 36.6% of the total. He also thanked EUACI for supporting and funding the work of expert groups that will help to better develop the Anti-Corruption Strategy for 20026-2030.
"Only through joint efforts of all anti-corruption agencies, international partners and the public can we achieve systemic changes in the fight against corruption and ensure effective implementation of reforms. The support of European partners, in particular EUACI, plays an important role in this process," emphasized Viktor Pavlushchyk.
The meeting participants paid special attention to ensuring the anti-corruption track during the negotiation process and bilateral meetings between Ukraine and the European Commission, which are held as part of the official screening of the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU law. The NACP coordinates the preparation of presentations and is a member of all negotiating groups. This work is carried out in accordance with the Recommendations on Anti-Corruption Mainstreaming in Negotiations with the EU, developed with the support of EUACI.
Participants emphasized the need to further develop the capacity of the anti-corruption infrastructure and bring its work in line with international standards. The upcoming NABU audit and the development of a new national anti-corruption strategy for 2026-2030 will be important steps in this direction.
EUACI remains a strategic partner of Ukraine in implementing reforms, providing support to state and local authorities. The participants highly appreciated EUACI's activities and its ability to adapt to new challenges, contributing to the development of transparency and integrity in the country.
