Full audits of declarations: Mayor of Pervomaisk notified of suspicion for false asset declaration

The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), including based on materials from a full declaration audit conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), notified the Pervomaisk city mayor of Mykolaiv region of suspicion for declaring false information amounting to over 5.3 million UAH.

Specifically, based on the results of a full audit of the 2023 declaration, the NACP found that the official failed to declare information about:

  • over 300 thousand UAH in his bank accounts;
  • his wife's financial obligation to their son-in-law for 5 million UAH.

The official's wife used the borrowed funds to purchase an apartment in Pervomaisk valued at over 4 million UAH, for which the declarant gave his consent to the purchase.

The total amount of false information indicated in the declaration amounts to over 5.3 million UAH.

The official is charged with intentionally entering knowingly false information into the declaration (Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Disclaimer. In accordance with Part One of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and may not be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt has been proven in a legal manner and established by a conviction of the court.
