HACC Appeals Chamber confirms forfeiture of former National Police lieutenant colonel's unjustified assets worth over UAH 2.2 million

18.05.2026

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC AC) has upheld the ruling of the court of first instance regarding the forfeiture to state revenue of an unjustified asset belonging to the family of a former senior detective of the National Police of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

The asset in question is a TOYOTA LAND CRUISER 200 vehicle. By court order, its value at the time of acquisition—over UAH 2.2 million—has been recovered for the benefit of the state.

As a reminder, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) filed the corresponding lawsuit based on materials from the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), the State Bureau of Investigation, and evidence independently obtained by the SAPO prosecutor.

Based on the results of the NACP's lifestyle monitoring of the police lieutenant colonel, as well as investigative data, it was established that in 2021, a relative of the former official purchased the SUV at his instruction. At the same time, the vehicle was actually used by him and his close associates. Thus, the former law enforcement officer performed actions regarding this asset equivalent to the right of disposal.

The ruling of the HACC Appeals Chamber takes legal effect from the moment of its pronouncement.

As a reminder, in April, the HACC Appeals Chamber rendered a decision in a case seeking to recognise as unjustified the assets used by the Deputy Chief of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the City of Kyiv and his family.
