HACC recognises the assets of the Kyiv City Council member and his wife as unjustified

01.05.2026

The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has granted the lawsuit of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO), recognising the assets of a Kyiv City Council member and his wife as unjustified.

The grounds for the court application were the results of lifestyle monitoring conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), as well as materials from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and evidence collected by SAPO prosecutors.

As a reminder, in 2021–2022, the deputy and his wife acquired ownership of seven land plots in the suburbs of Kyiv. They built two residential buildings with a total value of UAH 9.7 million. Furthermore, after selling 2 plots and 2 houses at prices exceeding their acquisition cost, the couple received an additional UAH 10 million in income.

At the same time, an analysis of the couple's income and expenses revealed insufficient legal sources to acquire these assets.

The HACC panel of judges recognised assets worth 9.7 million acquired by the couple as unjustified and ordered the seizure of 3 land plots and the value of the remaining assets, as well as UAH 10 million in income received from their sale.

The court's decision may be appealed in accordance with the procedure established by law.

Notably, during the first quarter of 2026, based on the results of lifestyle monitoring, the NACP forwarded 11 cases totalling UAH 65.33 million to SAPO to resolve the issue of filing lawsuits for the recognition of assets as unjustified and their recovery for the state's benefit.
