The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has granted the claim of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecution Office (SAPO) to recognize as unsubstantiated and recover into state revenue the assets of a current Member of Parliament.
The assets in question are vehicles manufactured in 2020:
- Toyota Land Cruiser 200;
- BMW 730LD;
- BMW X5.
The court ruled to recover their value, amounting to over UAH 7.2 million, into state revenue.
The claim was filed based on lifestyle monitoring materials conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), as well as evidence independently gathered by a SAPO prosecutor.
As a reminder, during the lifestyle monitoring, the NACP established that throughout 2020–2021, the aforementioned vehicles were acquired into private ownership by individuals associated with the Member of Parliament, specifically his unofficial drivers and representatives of a related legal entity. At the same time, after the purchase, the MP himself actually used them, including using appropriate clearance to enter the territory of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
After analysing the income and expenditures of the MP, his family members, and individuals associated with him, the Agency established the impossibility of acquiring these assets through legal income.
The court's decision may be appealed to the HACC Appeals Chamber within 30 days.
