The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) upheld the claim of a prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), based on materials from the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), and declared assets worth UAH 1.64 million, belonging to a prosecutor of one of the departments of the Office of the Prosecutor General, as unjustified.
According to the results of lifestyle monitoring of the official, NACP established that she had received about UAH 1.95 million as a gift from her mother, intended for the purchase of an apartment.
However, after analyzing the income and expenses of the prosecutor’s mother, the Agency concluded that part of the declared assets - namely UAH 1.64 million - could not have been acquired from legal income.
The assets are subject to confiscation under Article 290 of the Civil Procedure Code of Ukraine. The court’s decision may be appealed within 30 days from the date the full text is issued.
