Based on NACP materials, The State Bureau of Investigation has sent to court case on illicit enrichment of former customs official by over UAH 12 million

The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), based on materials from the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), has sent to court a case of illicit enrichment of a former employee of the Lviv Customs.

During the lifestyle monitoring, NACP found that while holding the position of an inspector of one of the departments of the Department for Combating Smuggling and Customs Violations of Lviv Customs, the former official acquired unjustified assets worth over UAH 12 million: a residential house in Dnipropetrovs'k region, 22 land plots in Dnipropetrovs'k and Lviv regions, vehicles - Jeep Cherokee, Toyota Venza, KamAZ, trailer and watercraft Brig Falkon 450L, as well as an excavator EO-2621.

He registered all the assets in the names of himself and his close associates. The NACP analysed the income and expenditures of the official's family and his relatives and concluded that they were not unable to acquire the property at the expense of legitimate income.

Disclaimer. According to part one of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person shall be presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
