Civil forfeiture: based on materials from the National Agency on Corruption Prevention, the High Anti-Corruption Court seized UAH 5.3 million from the former head of the Odessa Regional Tax Office

24.11.2025

The Higher Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) partially granted the lawsuit of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO), recognizing as unjustified assets worth over UAH 5.3 million belonging to the family of the former head of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Odesa Region.

The basis for this decision was materials from the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), as well as evidence independently obtained by the SAPO prosecutor.

The case concerns vehicles "Toyota Land Cruiser 200", manufactured in 2018, and "Audi RSQ8", manufactured in 2020, which were purchased for UAH 300 thousand and UAH 1.4 million respectively.

During lifestyle monitoring initiated based on a letter from the SBI, authorized NACP officials established that the market value of the specified vehicles was significantly higher – over UAH 5.3 million.

Subsequently, the former official's family sold one "Audi" vehicle – already at market value, purchasing a "BMW X7 xDrive" vehicle with the proceeds.

After analyzing the income and expenses of the former official and his family, the NACP established the impossibility of acquiring the specified movable property from legal sources.

The court's decision may be appealed within 30 days from the date of preparation of its full text.

The assets were seized in favor of the state in accordance with Article 290 of the Civil Procedural Code of Ukraine.

As a reminder, over UAH 8.6 million were also recently seized for the state from a Kyiv police officer based on materials from the NACP and SAPO.
