The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) partially upheld the claim of the prosecutor of the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) and recognised as unfounded assets worth over UAH 3.8 million acquired by the former head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Territorial Centre of Recruitment and Social Support (TCRSS) together with his wife.
The basis for this court decision was the results of monitoring the former official's lifestyle, which was carried out by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), as well as evidence obtained independently by the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).
During the monitoring, NACP officials established that the former head of the regional TCRSS had acquired several movable and immovable properties, as well as cash, while in office. These include:
- a house with land and two cars registered to the official's wife;
- cash acquired by the couple.
In addition, it was found that the property was purchased with cash, while the family's legal income was spent mainly in non-cash form.
The NACP analysed the official's family's income and expenses and determined that it was impossible to acquire the specified property with legal income.
The court ruled to seize the house with land, as well as the value of one of the cars, for the state's income.
The court's decision may be appealed within 30 days from the date of its full text.
