The judicial panel of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has partially granted a lawsuit filed by a prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) to recognise assets belonging to a former senior operations officer of the National Police of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region as unjustified.
The asset in question is a TOYOTA LAND CRUISER 200 valued at over UAH 2.2 million.
Based on lifestyle monitoring conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) and evidence gathered by law enforcement agencies, it was established that in 2021, a relative of the former official purchased the vehicle at his direction. In reality, however, the vehicle was used exclusively by the official and his immediate family.
Consequently, it was the former law enforcement officer who exercised rights over the asset equivalent to the power of disposal.
The Court recognised the vehicle as an unjustified asset and ordered the recovery of its monetary value into state revenue.
The court's decision may be appealed within 30 days of the filing of the full text of the ruling.
Notably, the lawsuit was filed based on materials prepared by the NACP in cooperation with the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), as well as evidence collected by the SAPO prosecutor.
