Courts have held a deputy and two local council officials accountable based on materials from checks on the completeness of declarations conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP).
Specifically, the Vyzhnytsia District Court of Chernivtsi Oblast found a leading specialist of the accounting and reporting department of the Berehomet Settlement Council of Vyzhnytsia District, Chernivtsi Oblast, guilty of committing a criminal offence stipulated by Part 1 of Article. 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Based on the results of the check conducted by the NACP, it was established that in her declaration for 2023, she failed to declare an apartment in Kyiv with an area of 43 sq. m. worth over UAH 3 million, which belongs to her by right of ownership. She was sentenced to a fine in the amount of UAH 68 thousand, with deprivation of the right to hold positions related to the performance of functions of the state or local self-government for a period of one year.
In addition, the Romny City District Court of Sumy Oblast found a deputy of the Khmeliv Village Council of Romny District, Sumy Oblast, guilty of committing an administrative offence stipulated by Part 4 of Article. 172-6 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences (CUAO). The official indicated false information in his annual declaration for 2024 for an amount exceeding UAH 1.37 million. The court imposed an administrative penalty on him in the form of a fine of UAH 17 thousand.
A decision similar in the type and amount of the imposed administrative penalty was made by the Drohobych City District Court of Lviv Oblast regarding a chief specialist, public amenities inspector, and ecologist of the safety and control department of the Department of Municipal Economy of the Drohobych City Council of Lviv Oblast. False information in the amount of UAH 800 thousand was established in his declaration for 2024.
At the same time, based on the results of the checks conducted during the first decade of May, the NACP sent three substantiated conclusions to the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police of Ukraine regarding the detection of signs of administrative offences stipulated by Part 4 of Art. 172-6 of the CUAO.
