Prosecutors of the Zhytomyr Regional Prosecutor's Office, based in part on the materials of full audits of declarations for 2022, 2023, and 2024 conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), have notified a deputy of the Shvaikivka Village Council of the Berdychiv District, Zhytomyr Region, of suspicion of declaring false information amounting to over UAH 46 million.
During the audits, the NACP established that the deputy, among other things, concealed information regarding:
- income received in 2023 from unidentified sources amounting to over UAH 5.8 million, used for debt repayment;
- financial liabilities to companies owned by him totalling over UAH 23 million (over UAH 7.3 million in 2022; over UAH 5.7 million in 2023; over UAH 10 million in 2024);
- expenditures for the repayment of these liabilities amounting to over UAH 9.4 million (over UAH 125 thousand in 2022; over UAH 5.7 million in 2023; UAH 1 million in 2024);
- personal income from entrepreneurial activity, alienation of property, and wages, totalling over UAH 325 thousand, received in 2022;
- personal corporate rights in companies amounting to over UAH 5.7 million (UAH 1.9 million in 2022 and UAH 3.8 million in 2023);
- a land plot in the Berdychiv District of the Zhytomyr Region in 2024.
The official is charged with the intentional submission of knowingly false information in a declaration (Part 2 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Zhytomyr Region under the procedural guidance of the Zhytomyr Regional Prosecutor's Office.
Note. Pursuant to part one of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proved through legal procedure and established by a court verdict of guilty.
