“Due to the resumption of cooperation with international partners in 2020, the NACP has created effective digital tools” — the NACP Deputy Head, Presniakov
Following the reboot of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (the NACP) this year, ensuring efficient cooperation with international partners has been one the Agency’s objectives.
“We are confident that efficient international partnerships are a prerequisite for the creation of effective policies and tools to ensure transparency and integrity of public service.  This has been evidenced by our joint achievements”, — the NACP Deputy Head, Ivan Presniakov, stated. “Due to collaboration with international partners, we created efficient digital tools: launched the POLITDATA Register, began work on updating the Register of Corruptionists and enhanced the Register of Declarations”, — Ivan Presniakov added.
The most significant results of the NACP’s cooperation with international donors for the year include:
  • Register of Political Party Reports (POLITDATA) created. Cooperation with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) and the USAID Support to Anti-Corruption Champion Institutions (SACCI) Program in Ukraine enabled us to launch the Register in test mode within just 3 months. Considering the fact that funds for the Register setup have not been allocated in the State Budget for this year, launch of the Register would have been impossible without partner assistance.
  • Engagement of best experts in the development of the Anti-Corruption Strategy for 2020–2024. In addition, thanks to the support of the European Union Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI), a study was conducted to research the corruption situation. This research enabled us to take into account the opinions of citizens, businesses and experts in the development of the Strategy.
  • Upgrading the Register of Corruptionists began in collaboration with USAID/UK aid TAPAS “Transparency and Accountability in Public Administration and Services” Project. This will make information on judgements with regard to corruptionists more accessible.
In addition, NACP representatives were involved in the working bodies of the Conference of UN Member-States to UN Convention against Corruption, sessions of the Governing Group of the Anti-Corruption Network for Eastern Europe and Central (ACN) and the Commission for Coordination of Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine. We are grateful to our partners for cooperation and willingness to engage even in the most complex projects!
