The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) has found signs of criminal offences in the lifestyle monitoring report of the deputy head of the Military-Technical Cooperation Coordination Department of the Military-Technical Cooperation Directorate of the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.
The National Police informed the official that he was suspected of violating Part 1 of Article 366-2 (false declaration).
NACP established that the official had declared false information for 2021 amounting to over UAH 3 million. In 2022, he purchased a Mercedes-Benz car worth over UAH 3.4 million, explaining that he had saved the money for the purchase while serving as a diplomat at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Korea in 2004-2008. At the same time, the official amount of payments received at that time in US dollars was equivalent to only UAH 2.98 million, and the declared income for 2022 was UAH 428,000. This indicates that cash assets worth over UAH 3 million were not declared.
Note: According to Part 1 of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt has been proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict.
