The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) has completed a full audit of the 2022 declaration of a judge of the Dnipro District Court and found signs of false information amounting to UAH 2.6 million.
The official concealed from his declaration an apartment in Dnipro, which he and his wife, together with their daughter, used for living during the reporting period. The value of the apartment rented by the judge exceeds UAH 1.2 million.
In addition, the judge ‘forgot’ to declare an unfinished apartment with an area of 62.5 square metres worth over UAH 1.37 million, acquired by his wife in October of the reporting year, located in the same residential complex where he rented an apartment.
The judge denied any knowledge of such an unfinished construction project, claiming that he only found out about it during the NACP's verification of his declaration. These statements are refuted by the written consent he provided for his wife to enter into a contract for shared participation in its construction, the text of which was indicated in the contract itself and signed by him personally.
Based on the results of the audit, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) initiated a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (declaration of false information).
