Further cooperation between the NATO Representation to Ukraine and the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) will continue to strengthen, as the Alliance is interested in supporting the development and strengthening of integrity in Ukraine's defense and security sector. This was noted by Tim Pollmeier, the NATO Comprehensive Assistance Package (CAP) for Ukraine Project Coordinator, during a meeting between representatives of the NATO Representation to Ukraine and NATO Headquarters with NACP Head Viktor Pavlushchyk.

"The combination of international experience with Ukrainian developments allows for more effective implementation of NATO recommendations, while reducing corruption risks and promoting the introduction of international standards," emphasized the Coordinator of the NATO Comprehensive Assistance Package for Ukraine projects.

The meeting between Alliance representatives and the NACP Head provided another opportunity to discuss next steps regarding the implementation of NATO recommendations within its cooperation with NACP, aimed at strengthening Ukraine's resilience in preventing corruption and building integrity in the security and defense sector.

Viktor Pavlushchyk informed Alliance representatives about NACP's work within two projects of NATO's Comprehensive Assistance Package for Ukraine, in which the Agency actively participates, to effectively meet NATO requirements. These include the Strategic Review of Ukraine's Defense Procurement System, as well as NATO's Initial Interoperability Requirements for Ukraine.

He also noted that the Anti-Corruption Strategy for 2026-2030 will focus, in particular, on addressing issues in the defense sector as one of the priority areas for preventing corruption, and will comply with international standards and NATO requirements for increasing transparency and accountability.

The NACP Head emphasized the importance of defining next steps for effective implementation of NATO recommendations, which will enable achievement of set goals and interoperability with NATO in the field of integrity building. After all, Ukraine's membership in the North Atlantic Alliance is a strategic and primary goal of the state.

"Currently, NACP is already developing proposals for further cooperation with NATO in strengthening integrity in the security and defense sector," stated Viktor Pavlushchyk.
