The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) have concluded the investigation in the criminal proceedings against a current Member of Parliament regarding illicit enrichment amounting to UAH 12.7 million.
As previously reported, based on materials from a lifestyle monitoring conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), as well as evidence gathered through investigative means, the MP was served with a notice of suspicion under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine in April.
Based on the results of the lifestyle monitoring, the NACP established that in 2020, acting on behalf of the Member of Parliament, acquaintances acquired an apartment in the center of Kyiv with an area of 132.6 square meters valued at UAH 5.6 million. At the same time, the apartment is actually used by the MP himself and members of his family.
An analysis of income and expenditures demonstrated that neither the Member of Parliament and his wife, nor the individuals who acquired the apartment on his behalf, possessed sufficient funds for its purchase.
In January 2025, the NACP forwarded the monitoring materials to the SAPO to address the issue of filing a lawsuit in court to declare this asset unsubstantiated and recover it to the state revenue. Subsequently, the NACP materials were attached to the NABU criminal proceedings.
According to the investigation, the Member of Parliament also acquired other unsubstantiated assets. Specifically, these include a cottage and a land plot on the Black Sea coast in the village of Kobleve, Mykolaiv Region, valued at UAH 1.7 million. Furthermore, according to the investigation's version, he spent over UAH 5.5 million on high-end renovations of the apartment in Kyiv.
It should also be noted that a journalistic investigation by the Bihus.info project served as the basis for initiating the lifestyle monitoring of the Member of Parliament.
