Officials of the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) and the The Prosecutor General of Ukraine, based on NACP materials, have notified a former judge, deputy head of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine, that he is under investigation.
The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), while monitoring the lifestyle of a former judge and deputy head of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine and in cooperation with the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI), found signs of illegal enrichment worth over UAH 97 million.
These include apartments and parking spaces in the elite residential complex ‘Novopecherski Lypky’ and Tetris Hall, land plots, cars (a 2017 Honda Accord, a 2019 BMW X5, and a 2013 Land Rover Range Rover), corporate rights, and cash acquired by the declarant and his close associates.
The National Agency analysed their income and expenses and established that it was impossible to acquire the specified property from legal income.
The former deputy of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine is charged with committing a criminal offence under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, ‘Illegal enrichment’.
If proven guilty, he faces imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years.
We remind you that the former deputy head of the Supreme Economic Court was detained by the State Bureau of Investigation in December last year on suspicion of participating in a criminal organisation and in crimes committed by such an organisation, as well as obtaining unlawful benefits. In May 2025, he was taken into custody as part of another criminal proceeding for encroaching on the economic security of Ukraine in the interests of the aggressor state.
