The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), on the basis of materials from the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) and the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), as well as independently collected evidence, filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) to recognize as unjustified assets worth more than UAH 8 million belonging to the Head of the State Environmental Inspectorate of Donetsk region, and to recover them to the benefit of the state.

This concerns, in particular, cars: AUDI A8 (2008), TOYOTA AVENSIS (2013), VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN (2019), TOYOTA LAND CRUISER PRADO 150, AUDI Q8 (2021), BMW X5 (2022), VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN (2024), which in 2019–2024 were purchased by the official’s wife and his close associate.

During the lifestyle monitoring, NACP established that part of the vehicles had been purchased at understated prices -  allegedly with money from the sale of previous cars.

In addition, part of the above-mentioned vehicles were, according to documents, owned by a close associate of the declarant who did not have a driver’s license. At the same time, the said vehicles were used by the official himself and his wife.

Authorized representatives of the National Agency analyzed the incomes and expenses of the official’s family and concluded that it was impossible to acquire the assets with legitimate funds. In addition, the family had no official income in 2021 and 2024 that could have been used to form the financial assets indicated in the declarations.

The assets may be recovered in favor of the state by decision of the HACC in accordance with Article 290 of the Civil Procedure Code of Ukraine.
