A prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO), acting on materials provided by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) and independently gathered evidence, has filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC). The suit seeks to recognise as unjustified the use of an asset by a police colonel, the head of a police department in the Odesa region.
The asset in question is a vehicle purchased by the law enforcement officer in 2023 and registered to another individual. However, the evidence collected confirms that the police officer is the vehicle's actual owner and user.
An analysis of the official's income and expenditures, as well as those of his family members, indicates that the asset could not have been acquired through legal income, as the family lacked sufficient funds for the purchase (the vehicle cost over UAH 3.4 million).
Following an application by the SAPO prosecutor, the High Anti-Corruption Court has placed the vehicle under seizure as an interim measure to secure the claim.
As a reminder, during January–March 2026, based on the results of lifestyle monitoring of officials, the NACP forwarded 13 cases and substantiated findings to law enforcement agencies, identifying signs of violations totalling more than UAH 100 million.
