Representatives of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) shared their experience in preventing and detecting corruption with Maksym Opanasenko, editor of “Nashi Hroshi” (“Our Money”) TV-program.

«If the authorized capital of the company is one thousand hryvnias, its director is at the same time a beneficiary ofthis company, the enterprise is registered in an apartment in Kyiv, and its beneficiary is from another part of Ukraine – it should be a red flag for us and we should ask ourselves: is this a real company and when it is engaged in something other than financing one political party,” Maxym Opanasenko said during the meeting.

The investigative journalist shared his experience of using analytical online systems to search and verify information on legal entities and individuals.

Representatives of the Department for the Prevention of Political Corruption noted that according to the analysis of political party reports in 2019, they drew up 1,220 reports on administrative offenses, and 5.2 million UAH (about $193,000) of contributions that were submitted in violation of the law were returned to the state budget.

NACP will draw on the experience of an investigative journalist in exposing cases of abuse of public finances.
