Ukraine launches a new web portal for whistleblowers to report the assets of persons involved in Russia's aggression against Ukraine
The Ukrainian Task Force on the Training, Freezing, and Confiscating Assets of those Involved in Russia's War Crimes has launched a Whistleblower Portal on the Assets of Persons Involved in the Russian Aggression against Ukraine. Task Force members include the Prosecutor General’s Office, the National Agency on  Corruption Prevention (NACP), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, the National Police, and the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine. The Task Force works with other countries, including the United States and the European Union, to exchange information on the assets of those involved in war crimes, as well as to implement sanctions and counter individuals and legal entities that violate those sanctions. «To ensure compensations for the victims of war and rebuild our country, we are looking for the property of war criminals to arrest it within criminal proceedings and then confiscate them. Everyone can help our Task Force to find the assets of Russian or Belarusian officials, opinion leaders, and all those who support the war in Ukraine organizationally, financially, and informationally. Through the new resource, you can quickly and conveniently share with us the information you know about their wealth», said Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova. If you have information about the property of the aforementioned people, We call on you to file a whistleblower report on their property abroad. For instance:
  • apartment in the UK;
  • gold bars in Switzerland;
  • yachts moored in the EU countries;
  • estates in the USA, Canada, or any other country.
Please mention only those assets the information on which was not covered in the press or other publicly available sources. The portal allows you to submit the whistleblower report anonymously if required. The message can be submitted in three languages: Ukrainian, English, or Russian. “It is important to note that as a result of submitting the whistleblower report, even anonymously, you can get a chance for a significant financial reward. The legislation of such countries as Ukraine, the United States, and the United Kingdom states that the whistleblower can receive up to 10% of the value of the reported assets. Moreover,  the whistleblower report can become a valuable contribution to the end of the war in Ukraine,” added the Head of the NACP Oleksandr Novikov. Asset information will help bring an end to the war by putting economic pressure on those who support Putin's regime. In particular, due to the confiscation of property of sanctioned persons or their manes imposed on the sanctions lists. The portal was developed by the Ukrainian IT company KitSoft. The asset whistleblower portal is available at www.reportsassets.nazk.gov.ua.
