Law enforcement officials have served a notice of suspicion to an official of the Municipal Enterprise “Road Maintenance Administration of the Solomianskyi District” based on the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) materials.

As part of monitoring and control over compliance with legislation on the prevention and resolution of conflicts of interest, authorized NACP representatives identified signs of a corruption offense in the actions of officials of the “Road Maintenance Administration of the Solomianskyi District”. They allegedly purchased technical salt at an inflated price, which resulted in significant losses to the city budget. NACP prepared a substantiated report, on the basis of which law enforcement authorities initiated pre-trial investigations.

Investigators of the Dniprovskyi District Police Department of Kyiv, together with officers of the Strategic Investigations Department in Kyiv, confirmed that in 2023 the municipal enterprise purchased salt for road de-icing from a private company at an inflated price. As a result, the city budget suffered losses exceeding UAH 2 million.

Investigators served the official with a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (official negligence). The sanction of this article provides for up to five years of imprisonment with disqualification from holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to three years.

Note: In accordance with Part 1 of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and may not be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt has been proven in accordance with the law and established by a guilty verdict of a court.
