Based on the lifestyle monitoring conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) and evidence gathered through investigative measures, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) have served a notice of suspicion to a current Member of Parliament. The official is suspected of illicit enrichment amounting to over UAH 12.7 million.
According to the results of the MP’s lifestyle monitoring, the NACP established that in 2020, acquaintances of the declarant, acting on his instructions, purchased an apartment in central Kyiv with a total area of 132.6 sq. m. valued at UAH 5.6 million. Meanwhile, the official and his family members reside in the premises.
An analysis of income and expenses revealed that neither the MP nor his wife nor the individuals who purchased the apartment on his behalf possessed the financial capacity to do so.
In January 2025, the NACP forwarded the facts identified during the monitoring to SAPO to resolve the issue of filing a lawsuit to recognise the asset as unsubstantiated and to recover it for the state.
The Agency’s materials were incorporated into the relevant criminal proceedings by NABU.
The investigation also uncovered other illegally acquired assets belonging to the MP. These include a cottage and a land plot on the Black Sea coast in the village of Kobleve, Mykolaiv region, valued at UAH 1.7 million. Additionally, according to the investigation, the MP spent over UAH 5.5 million on high-end renovations for the apartment in the capital.
The grounds for initiating the lifestyle monitoring of the Member of Parliament were a journalistic investigation by the Bihus.info project.
The official is currently charged with committing a crime under Art. 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illicit enrichment).
Disclaimer: Under Part One of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven through legal procedure and established by a court's verdict of conviction.
