Three apartments on the banks of the Dnipro and a premium car: UAH 12.5 million in unjustified assets may be recovered from a former military official

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) has filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) to recognise as unjustified and recover the state revenue assets totalling UAH 12.5 million acquired by a former military official.

The lawsuit was filed based on materials from the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), as well as evidence independently obtained by the prosecutor.

The assets in question were acquired by the former official between 2020 and 2023, specifically:

  • Three apartments and two parking spaces in a residential complex on the banks of the Dnipro River in Kyiv;
  • A 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350;
  • Property rights to two apartments in residential buildings currently under construction.

It has been established that the colonel registered part of the assets in his mother's name, and after her death, in the name of his wife's relative. Another portion of the property was registered directly to the aforementioned relative. At the same time, actual control over the assets, including the ability to dispose of them, remained with the official and his family.

An analysis of income and expenses showed that neither the official nor his relatives had the financial resources to acquire these assets. Furthermore, it was established that the individuals in whose names the property was registered had been abroad for a long time and did not use it.

To secure the claim, the court has seized assets commensurate with the stated demands.
