The Appeals Chamber of the HACC upheld the decision of the first instance court, which declared the UAH 5.6 million asset of the head of one of the Main Departments of the State Migration Service in Odesa region to be unjustified.
The decision comes into force from the moment of its announcement, and UAH 5.6 million was recovered to the state.
The decision was based on the joint work of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention, the State Bureau of Investigation, the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
In particular, based on the results of a full verification of the declaration, the NACP found that in 2023 the official's mother purchased a Mercedes Benz G400 D worth more than UAH 5.6 million. At the same time, the woman had no legal sources of income for such a purchase and did not have the right to drive the car. In fact, the car was used by the official and his close associates, who could dispose of it.
The analysis of income and savings showed that the official and his family could not have purchased the property with their legitimate income.
