The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court upheld the decision of the court of first instance, which recognised as unjustified the assets of the family of a police officer of the Kharkiv District Department of the National Police in the Kharkiv region. These assets include a Lexus LX 450D car worth UAH 3.8 million and UAH 4 million of the value of an apartment.
The decision was based on materials gathered jointly by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI), the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO).
In particular, based on the results of lifestyle monitoring, the NACP established that the law enforcement officer and his wife own a 2018 Lexus LX 450 car and an apartment in Kharkiv worth UAH 5.8 million.
An analysis of the couple's legal income and savings shows that they were not able to purchase such a luxury vehicle or pay the full cost of the apartment.
The assets will be confiscated in accordance with Article 290 of the Civil Code of Ukraine. The decision shall enter into force upon its announcement.
