The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) and the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau of the Republic of Poland (CBA) signed a Memorandum on deepening cooperation, exchange of information and experience related to the prevention and combating of corruption. The Memorandum was signed in Warsaw by NACP Head Viktor Pavlushchyk and CBA Head Tomasz Strzelczyk.
The memorandum provides for the exchange of information within the scope of competence, the organisation of joint training events, the implementation of educational initiatives, the exchange of experts, and the development of tools and programmes aimed at improving the effectiveness of anti-corruption measures. Cooperation will also cover issues such as raising public awareness of integrity, exchanging best practices in compliance, anti-corruption policy, risk management and internal control.
"Ukraine and Poland are active participants in leading international anti-corruption initiatives, such as the Council of Europe's Group of States against Corruption (GRECO), the OECD Anti-Corruption Network for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ACN) and the OECD Working Group on Bribery in International Business Transactions (WGB). We are committed to international standards of work and are ready to learn from best practices. This Memorandum is a logical continuation of this commitment and is extremely important now, as Ukraine is on the path to European integration and preparing for large-scale recovery. Cooperation with the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau of Poland will help strengthen our institutional capacity and successfully combat corruption that may arise during the recovery process," said NACP Head Viktor Pavlushchyk.
