Andrii Vyshnevskyi appointed as Deputy Head of the NACP
On August 12, the Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) Oleksandr Novikov appointed Andrii Vishnevskyi as his deputy. He will be responsible for the following areas of NACP’s work:
  • anti-corruption policy;
  • international cooperation;
  • corruption prevention.
«Andriy Vyshnevskyi has unique experience in the field of state service, justice, and civil society. The author of the reform of free legal aid and the chairman of the board of a powerful anti-corruption  non-governmental organization.  His experience will be a significant reinforcement for the effective work of the NACP team, especially during the war», — emphasized Oleksandr Novikov, Head of the NACP. Previously, Andrii Vyshnevskyi worked in the positions of Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of State Service, Deputy Minister of Justice, and Chairman of the Board of Transparency International Ukraine.  Since 2017, he has been a national consultant to the Council of Europe, the OSCE and UN Women. He also founded and led the NGO "Advocate of the Future". From 2004-2011, he was engaged in state service reform, the result of which was the adoption of the new Law "On State Service", as well as institutional support for the European integration of Ukraine, in particular, the implementation of Twinning, TAIEX and SIGMA tools in Ukraine. In 2012, he initiated the creation of the Legal Assistance Coordination Center, which he headed for almost five years. During this time, he built a nationwide state system of free legal aid from scratch - providing legal services (defense against prosecution, representation in court, provision of legal information, and consultations) to socially vulnerable people.  As a result of his leadership, the system began to include 121 state institutions with 550 offices providing free legal aid, more than 2,200 employees, and 5,000 lawyers.  Annually, the system provides legal services to more than 700,000 citizens. In 2018, he joined the anti-corruption activities of the NGO "Transparency International Ukraine" as a member of the board, and the following year he was elected chairman of the board. In 2020, he was elected a member of the board for a second term and re-elected as chairman of the board. In March 2020, based on the results of an open competition, he was appointed a member of the Supervisory Board of the Coordination Center for the Provision of Legal Aid, and in July 2021, Andrii Vishnevsky was elected as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Received a master's degree in public policy from the University of Oxford (Great Britain).  He is also a graduate of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Lawyer, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine.   Photo: Yevhen Korol
