A Chinese company that produces microelectronics for the navigation of Russian missiles and drones is recognized as an international war sponsor
The National Agency on Prevention of Corruption (NACP) has included the Chinese company ComNav Technology in the list of international war sponsors. ComNav manufactures and still supplies navigation and radar equipment to Russia - in particular, navigation modules with support for the Russian GLONASS system (an analogue of the American GPS). Such modules can be used in Russian and Iranian drones, as well as Russian missile systems for shelling Ukraine. Evidence of this was provided to the Agency by the Economic Security Council of Ukraine.
"From February 24 to December 30, 2022, the ComNav Technology company made 73 deliveries to the territory of the Russian Federation for a total amount of $2.1 million. Most often, the company supplied Russia with navigation and radar equipment. The NACP added ComNav Technology to the list of international sponsors of the war in order to make it impossible to further use these technologies to kill Ukrainians", -  said the Head of the NACP Oleksandr Novikov.
ComNav Technology is a major Chinese microelectronics manufacturer. Despite the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the company did not stop the production of GLONASS-enabled modules and other microelectronics for the Russian market. The GLONASS navigation system was created back in the Soviet Union - first of all, to fulfill military purposes: navigation of drones and missile systems, carrying out reconnaissance activities, coordination of ground combat groups and navigation of the naval fleet. In particular, the Russian military uses the GLONASS system to control Iranian Shahed-136 UAVs: on October 17, it became known that GLONASS control units were found in the Shahed-136 shot down on the territory of Ukraine. The use of the GLONASS system in Russian military equipment is almost entirely dependent on foreign-made modules. And since the purchase of Western modules is becoming increasingly difficult for the Russian Federation due to the disclosure of numerous "parallel" (or "gray") import schemes, Russia increasingly relies on Chinese manufacturers. Earlier the NACP included the following companies in the list of international sponsors of the war: Procter&Gamble, OpenWay Group, Danieli, TMS Tankers Ltd., Minerva Marine Inc., Thenamaris Ships Management, Delta Tankers Ltd., Dynacom Tankers Management Ltd., Leroy Merlin, Mondi Group/Mondi PLC, eKassir, Liberian International Ship & Corporate Registry and Bonduelle. All companies included in this list are included in the World-Check database of the international company London Stock Exchange Group in order to protect the financial sector from Russian war sponsors. The role of the NACP in sanctions policy is defined in the Individual Sanctions Roadmap developed by the Stanford International Working Group on Russian Sanctions.
