The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), in cooperation with the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) in Lviv, has found signs of acquisition of unjustified assets worth almost UAH 2.8 million by the head of a department of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Ivano-Frankivsk region. The case was referred to the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP).
In its turn, the SAPO filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) to recognize the assets as unjustified and to recover them as state revenue. The car in question is a BMW IX XDRIVE 40, made in 2021.
As a result of lifestyle monitoring, NACP found out that the car, which was owned by a relative of the official at the end of 2022, was purchased on behalf of the declarant. Such actions indicate an intention to conceal the real circumstances of the purchase of the vehicle.
The National Agency analyzed the income and expenditures of the official's family and her relatives and found that it was impossible to acquire the property at the expense of legitimate income.
